Harwood 12 String
The ultimate orchestral string sound
The combination of an Engelmann Spruce front, and back and sides of Goncalo Alves works particularly well on this twelve string version of the Harwood. The tone is particularly bright with tremendous sustain and the body size is large enough to produce a strong bottom end sound to balance up all that treble. It is important when building a twelve string to bear in mind that the extra strings are all increasing the treble sound of the instrument so you do need to make sure that you have a body size capable of delivering strong bass. All of my larger body sizes can be used to make a twelve string.
